An 8-week online study group for Christian parents of children who are gay, bisexual, or transgender — exploring what the Bible says about sexuality, gender, and marriage in a community of parents on the same journey.
Are you a Christian parent who has a child who is gay, bisexual, or transgender? Are you trying to reconcile your love for your child with your love for the Bible and your faith in Jesus Christ?
The Parent Study Group is an 8-week online program that takes these questions seriously — offering a close look at what Scripture actually teaches about marriage, gender, and sexual ethics, alongside a community of other parents who understand what you're going through.
Each week, parents receive resources to aid their exploration of that week's topic, questions for reflection, and an online discussion forum. Over the course of the eight weeks, four virtual Zoom gatherings provide an opportunity for face-to-face dialogue and mutual support.
Each week builds on the last — moving from foundational principles of biblical interpretation to the specific texts most relevant to parents of children who are gay, bisexual, or transgender.
The group runs entirely online, so you can participate from anywhere. Each week includes self-paced reading and reflection alongside a live community of other parents.
Each week you'll receive curated reading materials, reflection questions, and an online discussion forum to engage with other group members on your own schedule.
Throughout the eight weeks, four 90-minute Zoom gatherings (Fridays, 1–2:30pm Central) bring the group together for face-to-face dialogue and mutual support.
After the eight weeks, a bonus Zoom gathering focuses on a practical question many parents face: how to talk to friends and family about your journey.
You'll go through this with other Christian parents who know what it's like — parents who love God, love the Bible, and love their child.
Hear from parents who found their footing — and their community — through the study group.
"After much prayer and honest conversations, our mother-daughter relationship was restored and now we have the deepest love for each other — with Jesus as our foundation."
"I came into this group terrified that I'd have to choose between my faith and my child. I left with both — and with a biblical foundation I hadn't expected to find."
"The other parents in this group understood things no one else in my life could. That community alone was worth it — and the theology gave me language I desperately needed."
Registration is open for the 2026 Parent Study Group. The program is offered completely free of charge, made possible by the generosity of Reformation Project donors.
Space is limited — we encourage you to sign up as soon as you're ready.
